4:30am start times…. I will not miss you. (Taken with instagram)
After 3 days off, I’ve finally caught up on all my missed sleep from CMW. What an insane week/weekend. Saw so many old friends and new friends play, while drinking way too much. Starting Wednesday night, I saw Teenage Kicks at the Phoenix as main support for the Treble Charger reunion. Then off Thursday, even though I was planning on making it to the HandDrawn Dracula showcase at Parts and Labour, where Rituals were playing. Friday I saw Great Bloomers and Dino Bones at the Elmo for Dine Alone’s showcase, then off to a gallery opening then to the Arts and Crafts showcase to see Zeus and Dan Mangan at the Horseshoe, ending our night off at Dee’s for Sheezer. Then Saturday morning rolled around and I could barely function. BUT still managed to see Hate Gang at Sonic Boom with Mike Wickens, then Silver Dollar for Rebel Rebel then to Garrison for Balconies, Dee’s for Lifestory Monologue (but it was sold out, im a bad friend) then back to Garrison for Uncle Bad Touch, The Yardlets and Teenage Kicks. By the time Brendan Canning started djing I was ready for bed, at 3:30am.
Sooo I was tired/busy, hence the no blog entry situation.
So here’s some stuff I gathered from this past week. Justice (Hunters and Anglers, and ex- TV Freaks) is an incredibly nice dude, same with Dave from Dirty Nil. Bobby Kimberly loves Teenage Kicks as much as I do, and Travis from Rebel Rebel is a one man mosh pit.
Have a listen to some of these bands. Great people, great times.
Great Bloomers
Dinosaur Bones
ZEUS!!!!
LSM
Hunters and Anglers
All Great Tunes.
Over the past two weeks I’ve been getting together with a couple of good friends and working on rewriting new songs for full band format. All I can say is that we are so excited. The songs are coming together incredibly well and are sounding better than I could have ever imagined. Shows and new recordings and some big stuff coming up in the near future. Can’t wait for everyone to hear this…
Otherwise, I’m sure I’ll see a ton of people out at CMW this week. Come out and support Teenage Kicks as they open for Treble Charger this Wednesday night at the Phoenix. Rituals and Indian Handcrafts are going to take your daughters home on Thursday night and then the weekend… too much going on. But it’ll all be worth it.
Love y’all

This weekend my bud Dave Lock showed me this incredible video of a couple of his friends doing a cover of my favourite Zeus track. Toronto has some of the most talented artists and I am so happy to know (some of) them. This video blows my mind every time i watch it.

Thanks to our friends Mike & James from Street Folk Sessions for creating this video for the second installment of Say & Play! Also want to give a major shoutout to our #1 girl Jesse Crowe for singing on this track!
Two of my friends started this blog a couple months back. I love the concept/idea. Plus my other pals filmed this one, which makes it even cooler. Check it out
Old Friend/Great Songwriter & Singer. PLEASE have a listen.
Wrote this song last week, this is my first time using Garage band alone, so please forgive the sound quality.

Release day is upon us my fellow Kickers, and hopefully it will be a happy one.
You can grab the album today from any of these fine online music retailers, tell your friends, tell your ma’s and pa’s, and get a copy if you’d be so kind. We’re very proud of it so we hope you like it too.
